Here you can find all information about our update of the Fast Fusion Viewer
First placement
To project solar panels onto a roof, first click on the solar panel icon in the navigation bar on the left as usual. Then set the corner points of the area on which solar panels are to be created. Remember to connect the last point with the first to successfully close the area.
The marked area is now automatically assigned the maximum number of panels. A navigation bar appears on the right where you can further adjust your solar design, e.g. colour and size of the solar panel.
Marked areas can be subsequently adjusted by clicking on the corner points and moving them. You can also change the shape by connecting two corner points or creating a new corner point by selecting the black dots.
Note: the solar panels created do not always appear perfectly parallel to the roof ridge. In the next step, we will show you how to align the panels correctly.
Adding individual panels
If you want to customise the arrangement of the solar panels, you can add individual panels. To do this, select whether additional panels should be placed horizontally or vertically in the right-hand bar under ‘Single panel’. Once you have decided on a variant, click on it.
You can then place the panel within the selected area. You can mix horizontal and vertical arrangements. If a single panel is placed above a module group, the solar panels below will be deleted for the time being. These will reappear when the individual panel is moved and there is enough space.
The border of the individual panel indicates where a module can be placed. If the border is white, the module can be placed. If the border is red, placement is not possible. Individual panels can be deleted using the rubbish bin symbol.
Moving the solar panels
To be able to edit solar panels, the relevant panel group must be selected. To do this, click on the symbol with the solar panel in the navigation bar on the left. As soon as the symbol is turquoise, you can click on a panel group in the viewer and select it. When a panel group has been selected, it is displayed with a yellow border. Two symbols will then appear in the centre. Click and hold the left-hand circle to move the entire panel group. Click and hold the right-hand circle to rotate the entire panel group.
As soon as the mouse button is released, all panels are adjusted. New panels are added or deleted if they lie outside the marked area. Our software ensures that the marked area is always fully occupied according to your settings.
Note: when creating new areas for solar panels, your previous settings are automatically applied. This also applies across projects.
Customise and create new panels
If you click on Change panel in the navigation field under the ‘Panel type’ button, you can create customised solar panels. You can enter the desired panel length and width here as usual.
NEW: In addition, you can now change the name of the panels and choose a colour!
In the panel selection, you will see an overview of your customised panels.
These apply to the entire company. You can also see which panel type has been selected for the current planning and can change this at any time with a click.
Creating restricted areas
Select an existing solar panel group to create a restricted area there. The ‘Restricted areas’ button is located at the bottom of the navigation bar on the right.
Shortcut: Alternatively, you can also use the keyboard shortcut ‘S’.
You can now create blocked areas by setting the corner points for them. Close the restricted area by selecting the first point you set again. You can create further blocked areas without activating the function again.
Note: Restricted areas can only be created within the marked areas.
The solar panels that are located above a restricted area are now automatically deleted. Restricted areas can also be edited afterwards by clicking on the corner points and moving them. The restricted areas are deleted by clicking on the rubbish bin symbol.
Deleting solar panel groups
If you want to delete a solar panel group, click on the solar panel symbol on the right again. This will take you back to edit mode. Select the relevant solar panel group so that the border is displayed in yellow. The solar panel group can be deleted in both the left and right navigation bar.
Plotted lengths, surface dimensions and solar designs as an Excel download
As soon as a length, an area or a solar design has been drawn in the 3D model, this information can be exported as an Excel file with just one click. This allows you to use the inserted information externally with minimal effort. You can click through the various tabs here.
